I searched for personal trainer which specialises in women over 50s and found Sharen's name. She has good reviews so searched her out. Glad I did as she is on point with what I needed.. someone who knows what women over 50s in menopause are experiencing and offered some valid recommendations. She designed my work out based on my needs of gradual easing back into exercise and helped me with guiding my nutrition and she holds me accountable which is great as that was the push I needed to get back, a motivation I needed. Feeling better every week, and although slow to lose weight I have never felt better. Reduced brain fog and more energy.

1. Before starting: • What challenges were you facing? Menopausal Sarcponia (muscle loss), loss of vitality, low fitness level, lower back weakness • What made you decide to start your fitness journey with me? After meeting Sharen in my first Warrior Women class I just knew I wanted to work with her! My bestie + I asked if she did PT and when she said yes we jumped straight on board! 2. During your journey: • What specific improvements have you noticed? I starting noticing improvements within the first couple of weeks! I started to feel more motivated and stronger. After nearly 12 weeks of training I’m now noticing my muscles developing, my flexibility + mobility is much better, my nutrition is back on track and I am feeling so good! • What aspect of the program has helped you the most? The one on one training has been invaluable. To have the guidance of someone like Sharen, who works with you from where you are….knowing when and how far to push you has been amazing. This includes working with injuries. Sharen’s weekly emails are full of fantastic info to keep us inspired….and her daily motivations on WhatsApp are brilliant! • What surprised you about the experience? How much I love it! 3. Results: • How do you feel now compared to when you started? The difference is incredible. I fell stronger, motivated and am feeling my old self return. • What can you do now that you couldn't before? Push myself! I can now squat with feet on the ground, and am starting to lift heavier weights. I’m also feeling much more flexible. • What's been the biggest change in your daily life? I am absolutely loving starting most days with exercise! Such an unbelievably great way to start the day. 4. Personal touch: • What would you tell someone who's considering starting their own journey? I would say “Go you for starting! Show up, even when you don’t feel like it…..you will be grateful every time. And train with Sharen….you will be so glad you did.” • Any favourite moments or highlights from our sessions? So many highlights, every session with Sharen is full of fun + growth. It’s so exciting to finally be able to do a movement with ease, or to lift a heavier weight….to compete with no one but yourself each session. I also really love being part of the community of women (warriors!) who are on the same journey….all excited for + motivating each other. I’m so grateful to Sharen for getting my girlfriend & I back on track with our health + fitness…..I am again excited for the future 🙏😁

1. Before starting: • What challenges were you facing? - My biggest challenge before starting with Sharen was challenging myself. I was exercising, but I needed a push. • What made you decide to start your fitness journey with Sharen? - Sometimes life takes difficult turns which forces you to take your health seriously and that helps you give a life to your family. It was that kind of moment in my life and there I was clearing my head and trying to face the adversities and start on my fitness journey. 2. During your journey: • What specific improvements have you noticed? - The biggest improvement is I can walk straight :) I have so much energy and it’s amazing • What aspect of the program has helped you the most? - The impact that Sharen makes on my healthy lifestyle is fabulous. The personal touch makes you more accountable for yourself. Not just exercise but eating clean and the fasting and amazing newsletter makes it so enjoyable. • What surprised you about the experience? - I never knew how strong I am physically. Weight training made me realise that I can do way more than what I thought I could "What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger" ha-ha 3. Results: • How do you feel now compared to when you started? - I feel stronger, Healthier and confident ever since I started • What can you do now that you couldn't before? - I can now pick up my daughter and walk for quite a distance. I can walk and climb stairs without getting tired. • What's been the biggest change in your daily life? - I can do stuff easily now. I am juggling between everything almost alone on many things and working out has made it somewhat easier now. 4. Personal touch: • What would you tell someone who's considering starting their own journey? - I would just say that put your foot in the door and rest Sharen will make you go miles. It’s an amazing journey and after every session with Sharen, you will be more and more excited to Strength training. • Any favourite moments or highlights from our sessions? - The most favourite moment of the session is when Sharen greets me as soon as I enter the gym. Her positive energy drives me to do better. She keeps me accountable. Before starting my fitness journey, I had enrolled in the new gym and as it was getting to opening day, I had an episode of lumbar pain in my lower back. This is something that happened a few times before, but I knew I had to strengthen my back, my core, lose weight and improve mobility and flexibility. I knew that I needed to engage a PT to ensure that I had correct guidance and accountability. Sharen's profile fit the bill for me as she understands what women of our age need to ensure safe training, improvements and great nutrition. After a thorough fact finding session, we got going on nutrition, meal plans, and exercise plans. Unlike any PT I have had previously, Sharen shares the knowledge of the 'why' things are done, and shows best practice at all times, and after a couple of weeks of one PT session and the weekly group mobility class, I increased to two personal sessions a week. This has enabled me to really focus on my goals. She works me harder than I have experienced before, and this is exactly what I need. It's very easy to go to a gym and go through the motions for 45 minutes. Sharen always adds a little more each week, and I get to the end of the session feeling challenged, energized, invigorated and ready for the day ahead. I still have a very long road ahead of me, however, I have noticed that my shape is changing, I am getting stronger, and although still struggling with various aspects of flexibility and mobility, there are positive changes happening there too. I have learned so much in just a few short weeks, and highly recommend the all round support that Sharen provides.
